China Airlines signed AMA agreement with Airbus
President S.C. Hsieh of China Airlines, announced the signing of the Airbus MRO Alliance (AMA) agreement with Airbus today. China Airlines became the first initial member to sign the AMA contract with Airbus.
On 21st Dec 2016, China Airlines and Airbus signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for engineering and maintenance field cooperation. The goal is to comprehensively upgrade China Airlines engineering, maintenance and technology capabilities through Airbus support, and to join Airbus' maintenance and training network to increase sales of related services.
To enhance and strengthen its after-sales service, Airbus formed an Airbus MRO Alliance (AMA) in June 2017 and invited China Airlines to join as one of six initial members. Airbus continued holding an initial AMA members meeting at the end of March 2018. Four themes of KPI, Skywise for big data application, Airbus engineering technical support, and Material support are discussed with Airbus. In order to demonstrate the importance and determination of this maintenance alliance, Airbus intends to complete the signing of the basic contract with each member by the end of June 2018, and China Airlines has also become the first of the six initial AMA members to sign the contract. (Note: 6 initial members of AMA include: AAR, Aeroman, Sabena Technics, Etihad Airways Engineering, China Airlines, GAMECO).
